Launched in 1977, the Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD has evolved into the sport’s premier indoor junior team tennis competition. Traditionally played in both the 14 and 16 & Under age categories, the event is open to teams nominated by European national federations and provides an invaluable opportunity to play in team conditions during the winter months.
The event is played in two stages. During the qualifying stage, teams travel to compete in one of four qualifying groups, each of which hosts up to eight nations. The winner and runner-up from each qualifying zone proceed to the final rounds a fortnight later.
The qualifying rounds of the 2019 14/16 & Under Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD took place during the weekend of 1-3 February. The nations that qualified for the final rounds are:
14 & Under Girls:
Belarus, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland and Ukraine.
14 & Under Boys:
Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Russia and Switzerland.
The finals of the Winter Cups are hosted by Czech Republic and will be played 15-17 February.
